Folksinger, songwriter Jami Lynn will headline Vermillion Area Arts Councils annual St. Patricks Day Celebration, Thursday, March 17, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Washington Street Arts Center, 202 Washington Street in Vermillion. Traditional Irish food and brews will be served. Works by University of South Dakota students and younger artists will be exhibited.
Jami Lynn will perform Irish folksongs and music from her new CD, Sodbusters, with fellow musician Josh Rieck from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. In the years since the 2008 release of Dreamer under the name of Jami Lynn & the Aquila Band, the two have stripped down their style and consulted local folklore for inspiration.
Tickets may be purchased at the door: $8 for VAAC Members, $12 for non-members, $5 for children 11-18 and free for children 10 and under.
