Letter: Everlasting kindness

To the girls in the Vermillion High School Class of 1964:

I have wanted to do this for a very long time. Tucked away in my mind is a fond memory of very nice girls in the class of 1964. They welcomed me with open arms in the middle of my senior year of high school as a transfer from Mitchell.

I was about to be a teenage mother and those girls made me feel so good about the whole situation. I remember a surprise baby shower given for me by many of the girls in that class where I got the most wonderful gifts. I never did get the addresses of the girls at the shower to send out thank you notes but I do remember two of the girls first names, Rosemary and Nancy.

I want to thank each and every one of you for what you did for me that year and want you to know just how very much I did appreciate it. I have never forgotten that day and can still see some of the girls ouside dancing in the light misty rain and in the rain puddles, having fun and laughing!

If you were one of those girls or know of one of them please pass this message on to them. I thank you so very much, your kindness has remained with me and will forever.
