Attending the annual Community Health & Wellness Fair proved to be very beneficial for Bernie LeCates and his family. LeCates was excited to learn that his name was drawn for the grand prize at the Health Fair; a Wii Entertainment System and the Wii Fit Program.
The Health Fair offered a great variety of booths, activities and screenings. This was my first year to attend, said LeCates. It was very well organized. My experience went smooth and fast with very little waiting. The food (fresh fruit) was great!
Bernie enjoyed taking his time to visit many of the health and education booths at the fair. His daughter Jackie spent time in the Childrens Healthy Activity room. She had lots of fun while learning about ways she can stay healthy, too.
The Community Health & Wellness Fair, in its fourth year, was held at the Lee Medicine Building on the campus of the University of South Dakota on Saturday, Feb. 5. The event is hosted by Sanford Vermillion in partnership with students from the USD SIFE organization as well as students from nine departments of the USD Health Professions program.
Participants, like LeCates, who completed a brief survey of their experience at the event were included in a drawing for the grand prize. Attendees had numerous other opportunities for giveaways and prize drawings at many of the booths.
