Eric Storm and Jennifer Jurgensen were recently honored as the Vermillion High School April Students of the Month. Faculty recommendations gave these two high marks in their academic and extra-curricular performance. First Bank & Trust will provide a $100 scholarship to each of them for this designation.
Storm's interests include math and science with a plan to study aerospace engineering at either the University of Kansas or Oklahoma State University. He is the soccer team captain and was selected as an all-state midfielder. His parents are John Storm and Karla Haught.
Jurgensen has been involved with Marching Band, Concert Choir, bowling, National Honor Society, and Thespian Club. Her plans are to attend South Dakota State University and to major in pharmacy. Her parents are Mike and Laurie Jurgensen.
Many other VHS seniors were nominated with excellent academic and extra-curricular records. These included Ellen Brown, Michelle Olson, Megan Schliesman, Doug Kronaizl, Anthony Henderson, Joe Geis, Benedict Gombocz, Korey Miller, Gage Thomas, Ben Kozak, Janani Ragothaman, and Virginia Bergman.
