Larry Ness, CEO and chairman of the board of First Dakota National Bank, announces the appointment of Walter O. Carlson, Dan Culey, Michael Ness, Aaron Ness and Rob Ness to the bank�s board of directors.
Dr. Carlson is an orthopedic surgeon with the Orthopedic Institute in Sioux Falls. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis, and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester. In 1983, he joined the Orthopedic Institute where he is currently a partner. Dr. Carlson holds a number of professional memberships and has been actively involved in the Sioux Falls community.
Dan Culey is the retired chairman and CEO of FMB Bankshares, Inc., and First American Bank & Trust. He began his banking career in 1966, while attending Northern State University, Aberdeen. Dan spent his entire 40-year banking career in South Dakota and was actively involved in many banking and community organizations.
Michael Ness is president and market manager of First Dakota�s Sioux Falls market. Prior to joining First Dakota, in October, 2002, Michael was employed with Commercial Federal Bank, Lincoln, NE. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and holds a degree in business administration. Michael is actively involved in the Sioux Falls community and is a member of the South Dakota Bankers Association Legislative Committee.
Aaron Ness is vice president of business banking in First Dakota�s Yankton location. He earned his bachelor of arts degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his master of business administration from the University of South Dakota. Aaron worked as a commercial lender at a community bank in Houston, TX, for two years prior to joining First Dakota in April, 2002. Aaron has served on a number of non-profit boards and is currently a Chamber Ambassador and treasurer/board member of the Yankton School District 63-3 Foundation.
Rob Ness joined First Dakota in 2007, and is currently vice president of investments & corporate strategies. Rob�s primary duties include managing the bank�s investment portfolio, asset/liability management, and analyzing corporate projects. He earned a management degree, with a finance emphasis, and a master of business administration from the University of South Dakota.
Rob was previously employed as a bank examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and spent time examining national banks in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. He is involved in several activities in the Yankton community and is currently the treasurer/board member of Big Friend Little Friend and serves on the board of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
