May 20 is last day of school

The Vermillion School Board recentlly took action to make up days missed due to weather conditions.

The board decided to add two contact days to the end of the student calendar which sets Friday, May 20, as the last day of school for the current 2010-11 school year. The last day of school will be dismissed at 1:50 p.m. in the elementary schools and 2 p.m. at the middle and high schools.

Teachers will be back on the job on Monday, May 23, for professional service training to complete their number of contract days. Elementary teachers will be trained on new assessment techniques to measure student progress. Middle and high school teachers will participate in technology training.

Three days of school were missed due to weather conditions during the school year.
