Tanager bowlers compete at Lincoln tourney

The weekend of March 19 and 20, the Vermillion High School varsity bowling team competed at the 14th annual Star City High School Open hosted by the Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, NE.

Saturday the boys filled the final qualifying spot for Sundays championship rounds. Sundays action consisted of all baker team bowling competition. The boys lost their first match in a five game match to the Fremont, NE boys and then battled their way back up the losers bracket to eventually fall to the Sioux Falls Washington squad to claim fourth place out of 21 teams that started the tournament.

The boys bowled extremely solid fundamental bowling, with a very high percentage of strike and spare combinations with very few washouts on the very tough high oil pattern used for the weekend.
