USD Delta Mu chapter of PSE wins national chapter award

Six members of USDs Delta Mu chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) attended the 55th annual PSE National Convention in Orlando, Fla., recently.

USDs Delta Mu chapter competed against four other schools, winning Top New Chapter, which is awarded to a chapter in its first year of chartering. The recipient for this award excels in all areas of operations, including recruitment, projects, community involvement, regional and national communication, and adherence to the principles of PSE. The chapter also exceeds expectations and demonstrates the dedication and passion to maintain the chapter in the future.

Senior Justin Shatto of Sioux Falls was selected as a finalist for the scholarship interviews. He was also awarded a $1,500 scholarship from Enterprise Rent-A-Car and placed fourth out of 80 participants in the Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon, a competition focused on the students ability to sell a product or service in a real-life business situation. He received a trophy and a $500 check.

Sophomore Jerrett Kucera of Winner was selected to be a member of the 2011 PSE Future Leaders Team, a program that recognizes freshman and sophomore members of PSE who display the potential to become great Future Leaders of their chapters and of PSE.

At the national convention, members are given the opportunity to further their business education through speakers, a career fair and participation in competitions such as the Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon, scholarship interviews and various national awards.

Pi Sigma Epsilon is the only national, co-ed, professional fraternal organization in sales, marketing, and management. The Delta Mu chapter was re-chartered in October 2009, and has worked diligently at providing opportunities for Beacom School of Business students to serve the campus, learn professional skills, and meet professionals in business.
