Chamber Business:

For several years the VCDC and the City of Vermillion, along with a few contributing businesses, have been able to fully fund the communitys  annual 4th of July festivities in Barstow Park.  With rising costs and fewer donations over the past two years we need to seek additional funding sources in order to offer this event to the community. Our goal is to raise an additional $4,000 so we really need your assistance.  Volunteers have been approaching businesses with canisters to place at the register to help raise the necessary funding.  If you have not yet been approached by volunteers and are willing to have a canister placed in your business, please contact the VCDC office (624-5571) and we will deliver one.  Also, if your business is willing to make a separate contribution to the celebration it would be greatly appreciated.

Business After Hours hosted by Heartland Smiles, 117 E. Cherry St., is Tues., June 21st from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Hors doeuvres and refreshments will be served.  Please join us to meet Dr. Jenna Renshaw and welcome her to Vermillion, tour the facilities, make new contacts and socialize!

VCDC Annual Golf Social June 28!  The 4-Person Best Ball Scramble Golf Tournament will begin with team sign-in at The Bluffs Golf Course followed by pictures at 11:45 a.m. and the open format shot gun start at 1 p.m.  The buffet dinner will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the golf awards and door prizes.  Please call the VCDC office at 624-5571 or email to register your team, be a hole sponsor, or donate a pin or door prize.  Please register soon!

In preparation for our annual July 4th Celebration we are seeking food vendors, merchandise vendors, arts & craft vendors, and childrens activities.  We are also seeking volunteers to help with the event.  As in previous years, the celebration will be at Barstow Park from 6 p.m. to dark, followed by fireworks.  Entertainment options will include music, an activity area for kids, Hy-Vees 5th Annual Hot Dog Championship, the Eagles Beer Garden, and more.  Fun in the Sun will be at Prentis Park Pool from 9 to 11 a.m.  If you would like to participate or have any questions please contact Ann at the VCDC office 624-5571 or email
