Sanford Vermillion Medical Center and Community Blood Bank will be joining together to host the Third Annual All American Community Blood Drive on Wednesday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 to 6 p.m. at Sanford Vermillion Medical Center.
Blood usage has been up nearly 20 percent in the last two weeks following the July 4 holiday placing a heavy burden on the blood supply, said Ken Versteeg, executive director, Community Blood Bank. It is crucial that the blood supply is at an adequate level throughout the summer months for use in traumas, surgeries, burn and cancer treatment. Please consider donating blood when we are at Sanford Vermillion Medical Center on July 20. Your donating will impact lives throughout the summer.
Donors donating on July 20 will receive a special commemorative ALL AMERICAN BLOOD DONOR t-shirt and a free lunch, compliments of Sanford Vermillion Medical Center.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs. or more and be in good general health. Please bring an ID with you. It is recommended that donors eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating blood.
Community Blood Bank is proud to be the sole provider of blood and blood products to Sanford Vermillion Medical Center for over 10 years. For more information log onto www.cbblifeblood.org or call 624-2611. Walk-ins are welcome.
