Future Coyote finishes second in shot put at Pan American Junior Athletics Championship

Future University of South Dakota men�s track and field student-athlete, Kyle McKelvey, finished second in the shot put at the 2011 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, FL, Sunday evening.

McKelvey, a native of Beresford, threw 60 feet, 4 inches, edging Caleb Whitener of the University of Georgia by 3.75 inches.  Whitener just completed his freshman year for the Bulldogs.  Jamaica�s Ashinia Miller won the event at 65 feet, 6 � inches.

McKelvey will be a freshman this fall for the Coyotes.
