The Ironkids National Triathlon was held Saturday, Sept. 17 in West Des Moines, IA. Madisen Lavin of Vermillion placed 15th in the 11 year old age division. Water temperature below safe conditions forced the race to be a biathlon. Maddie finished in a time of 28:25. The race consisted of a half mile run, a 4-mile bike ride and a 1-mile run. Maddie is the daughter of Matt and Carol Lavin.
