Larson receives Golden Seatbelt award

Dr. Linda Lujan, president of Chandler Gilbert Community College (CGCC), Chandler, AZ, recently announced that Professor James Larson was a 2011 recipient of a Golden Seatbelt award.  This award is conferred upon eight adjunct faculty from various departments throughout the college for outstanding success in student retention. 

Dr. Larson teaches microeconomics and macroeconomics in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences.  He has been employed by CGCC for the past four years and has now won this award for the second time since 2009. 

CGCC has student enrollment of approximately 17,000 and employs nearly 500 adjunct instructors.  Jim is a graduate of Vermillion High School class of 1966 and received his bachelors and masters degrees at USD. 

Dr. Larson and his wife Karen are residents of Sun Lakes, AZ.  He is the son of Mel and Betty Larson of rural Meckling.
