Stephanie R. Taylor has joined the law firm of Bone McAllester Norton PLLC and will oversee the firms Entertainment Law Group, Chairman Charles W. Bone has announced.
We are pleased to announce Stephanie in her new role, Mr. Bone said. She brings experience and a vast knowledge of the entertainment industry and an excellent track record in her representation of clients in the business. She understands the industry from both a business and legal standpoint, as well as from an artists perspective being a musician herself.
Ms. Taylor specializes in entertainment law providing a broad range of legal services covering copyright law, music publishing, record labels, media and general business matters. She represents clients involved with the creation, production, and management of creative works including recording artists, songwriters, producers, managers, music publishers, promoters and music industry entrepreneurs.
Prior to joining Bone McAllester Norton, she owned her own law firm, Stephanie Taylor Law. She represented artists and music industry professionals and negotiated entertainment industry contracts for artists and also licensing and distribution deals for original television programs.
Ms. Taylor also has been a professor of music business at Middle Tennessee State University and directed MTSUs Recording Industry Exchange program with Russia. Ms. Taylor earned her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received her Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Music Business from Belmont University.
She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association, where she is a TBA member of the Continuing Law Education committee in the Entertainment and Sports Law section. She also serves with the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts (VLPA).
Ms. Taylor is a classically trained violinist and country/bluegrass fiddle player. Her musical career has included eight years as a contract violinist with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra in Lincoln, NE and she has played with numerous musicians including with Grammy nominated Chris Young, award winning singer/songwriters Billy Yates and Billy Falcon, bluegrass talent Dana Romanello and country duo Joey + Rory.
She was recently honored to be inducted into the South Dakota Old Time Fiddlers Hall of Fame.
