The University of South Dakota is offering free admission to South Dakota National Guard, veterans or active duty service members to Saturday's football game vs. Eastern Washington at the DakotaDome.
Two free tickets will be available for the first 300 service men or women who are willing to participate in a pre-game ceremony that involves holding an American flag in the aisle of the DakotaDome. Kickoff for the Sept. 10 contest, which is also the home opener for the Coyotes, is scheduled for 4 p.m. Soldiers and airmen would need to arrive by 3 p.m.
The pre-game ceremony will commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11 and honor military personnel for their service and sacrifice since the 2001 terrorist attacks. Eastern Washington, the defending FCS National Champions, is 0-1 after a 30-27 loss to Washington. USD is 0-1 after an opening weekend loss at Air Force, 37-20.
Veterans, soldiers and airmen interested in participating, please call (605) 677-5331 to reserve tickets and to receive additional information regarding Saturday's pre-game activities.
