Robert John Tschetter was born Sept. 10, 1939, to John and Elizabeth (Hofer) Tschetter in Bridgewater, where he lived in his parents' home until 1957. In 1957, he moved to Redfield, where he lived until 1988. He then moved to Vermillion, where he lived until passing.
Grateful to share his life were his brothers and sisters: Richard Tschetter, Bridgewater, John Tschetter, Bridgewater, Elsie (Tschetter) Spearfish, Donald and Mae Tschetter, Huron, Rose (Tschetter) and Edwin Johnson, Lennox, MaryKay Tschetter, Huron, Viola (Tschetter) and Norman Burnham, Alvordton, OH and his special cousin, Joni (Tschetter) and Kurt Siedschlaw, Kearney, NE.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth Tschetter his brother Alvin Tschetter, Irvin Tschetter and his brother-in-law, William "Bill" Bradley.
Robert loved to greet people, sit in the sunshine, watch birds, listen to music, drink shakes, go for rides especially buses, look nice, get his hair cut, get massages, take afternoon naps, go to parties, go out to eat to socialize, attend the UCC Church where he was adored and be warm. Every morning he woke up happy ready to start a new day.
Robert died Jan. 18, 2012, at the age of 72 at Prairie Estates Nursing Home in Elk Point.
The memorial service was Tuesday, Jan. 24, 10 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Vermillion, with the burial at Neu Hutterthaler Cemetery in Bridgewater, on Friday Jan. 27, 2012, at 1 p.m.
