Arden Kjose, 87, of Elk Point and McAllen, TX passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the McAllen Veterans Care Center in McAllen.
Arden was born Jan. 15, 1925 to Martin and Eva (Nielsen) Kjose. He joined the Army in 1945 and returned from the service to begin his farming career. He married Doris Sundleaf on April 28, 1945.
Arden started trap shooting in 1962, and over the years had captured the SD State Champion title 16 times, and was inducted into the Trap Shooters Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
After the death of his first wife, he married Esther Holt on Sept. 17, 2000.
Arden is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Doris; and a brother, Vernon.
He is survived by his wife, Esther, of Elk Point; a son, Ron (Dora) Kjose, also of Elk point; grandsons, Brad (Lori), Aaron (Cheryl); and great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Hunter.
Memorial services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Brule Creek Lutheran Church rural Spink, with burial of ashes in the church cemetery.
