  • National Music Museum (NMM) Brown Bag Lunch Program, "Woody Music," at 12:05 p.m. at Arne B. Larson Concert Hall at the NMM located on USD campus, corner of Clark & Yale streets. Free and open to the public. Febuary program sponsor: Clay County.
  • 89th annual Strollers Show, 6 p.m. in Slagle Hall Aalfs Auditorium on USD campus.
  • Music Recital: Sean Bray presents his senior trombone recital, 7:30 p.m. in Colton Recital Hall in the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts on USD campus. Open to the public at no charge.
  • Debate: Rushmore District NFL Qualifier at Sioux Falls Lincoln (Times TBA).

Saturday, February 18

  • Overeaters Anonymous, 9 a.m., 20 S. Plum St., administration entrance – board room. Description: Overeaters Anonymous is a 12-step program for people with eating disorders and struggles. The group meets every Saturday.
  • Vermillion Area Farmer's Market, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Clay County Extension Building, 515 High St.
  • 89th annual Strollers Show, 6 p.m. in Slagle Hall Aalfs Auditorium on USD campus.
  • Scripps Regional Spelling Bee from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Muenster University Center Grand Ballroom on USD campus. USD is the official sponsor of the Scripps National Spelling Bee for South Dakota. Winners from school from southeast South Dakota will compete for a place to attend the state spelling bee contest.
  • Show Choir: Center Stage Invite in Aberdeen (Times TBA).
  • Debate: Rushmore District NFL Qualifier at Sioux Falls Lincoln (Times TBA).

Tuesday, February 21

  • Vermillion Rotary Club Meeting, noon-1 p.m. in the Freedom Forum Conference Room of the Al Neuharth Media Center.
  • Spring 2012 Citizens Academy (February-March). The City of Vermillion will be hosting a Citizens Academy in February-March for citizens over the age of 18. This is an exciting opportunity for you to learn more about the City of Vermillion and its government. There will be five weekly sessions followed by graduation. The sessions will be three long hours on Tuesday nights with a half-hour meal break. Class size is limited, so apply today. Applications are available via the "Inside Vermillion Links," on our homepage or available for pickup at City Hall. A wide variety of challenging and interesting games and puzzles will be available to provide mental stimulation. Learn or show others how to play Blurt, a popular vocabulary-building game. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
  • FEB. 25 — Cracker Barrel Session, 10 a.m.-noon at the City Hall Council Chambers at 25 Center Street, Vermillion.
  • FEB. 26 — Volunteer income tax assistance sponsored by USD Law School, 1-4 p.m. at the Vermillion Public Library, 18 Church St. Call 677-7060 or visit vpl.sdln.net for complete listing of services.

  • FEB. 29 — Celebrity Chef Robert Hesse (as seen on "Hell's Kitchen") and Café Brulé serve a world-class six-course dinner with wine at Café Brulé. Two seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Proceeds go to benefit Domestic Violence Safe Options Services. Call 605-659-4933 for tickets.
