Vermillion's fifth grade girls basketball team came home champions after participating in a basketball tournament held earlier this month in Castlewood. The girls played Hamlin in the first game and won 8-7. Their second game was against Castlewood and they won 16-8. The championship game was against Deuel and they won 12-2. The players are: (front) Shelby Husby, Megan Haselhorst, Rachel Brady, Tasia French, and (second row) Keegan Retzlaff, Sydney Allen, Brooklyn Hansen, Makenna Druecker, Kasey Herbster, Alisha Leber. In back are coaches Jim Brady, Jeremy Allen, Kevin Haselhorst.
