South Dakota women's basketball recruit Heidi Hoff has been named the ESPNHS Gatorade State Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the state of South Dakota, it has been announced. Hoff is one of 51 players nationally to earn the award.
Hoff (Brandon, SD), who is completing her senior season at as part of Brandon Valley's state tournament team, signed with the Coyote women in November. She is a 5-foot-11 guard who led the Lynx to a 16-7 record and a trip to the Class AA state tournament. Hoff had 13 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in Brandon Valley's opening-round 51-36 win over Rapid City Stevens on Thursday in Brookings.
Hoff averaged 21.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.1 steals through 23 games. She also set a school single-game record with 45 points on Jan. 10 against Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
In the classroom, Hoff has maintained a 3.57 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.
