Vermillion youth wrestlers on the road to state tourney

Vermillion youth Wrestlers stood tall at the podium on Sunday at the Region 5 AAU State Wrestling Tournament held in Yankton as 15 wrestlers advanced to the state Tournament that will be held in Aberdeen on March 23-25.  Through hard work and determination, 11 wrestlers made it to the championship match and five were crowned Region 5 Champions.

Those wrestlers heading to State are: Michael Roob – Tots 40 lbs, Rollie French – Tots Hwt, Jake Jensen – Bantam 80 lbs, Stephen Callahan – Midget 50 lbs, Nicholas Roob – Midget 55 lbs, Lucus Anglin – Midget 65 lbs, Jack Kratz – Midget 80 lbs, Kobe Culver – Midget 90 lbs, Brady Surrell – Novice 140 lbs, Trey Hage – Schoolboy 75 lbs, Kyle Seibel – Schoolboy 95 lbs, Carter Kratz – Schoolboy 125 lbs, Hunter Christopherson – Schoolboy 140 lbs, Billy Mount – Schoolboy 180 lbs and Noah Westergaard – Cadet 182 lbs.
