  • National Music Museum (NMM) Brown Bag Lunch Program at 12:05 p.m. featuring "Wonderful, Sweet Music," on The Musical Saw with Janis Andol performing in the Arne B. Larson Concert Hall at the NMM located on USD campus, corner of Clark and Yale St. "Free Fridays" April sponsor is Sanford at Vermillion.
  • USD Jazz Ensembles with special guest, Scotty Barnhart, trumpet soloist with the Count Basie Orchestra, 7:30 p.m. at Colton Recital Hall, Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts on USD campus. Open to the public at no charge.

Saturday, April 14

  • Overeaters Anonymous at 9 a.m. Location: 20 S. Plum St, Administration entrance, board room. Overeasters Anonymous is a 12-step program for people with eating disorders and struggles.
  • ACT Test at 8 a.m. at Vermillion High School.
  • Heartland Humane Society (HHS) Meet and Greet from 10 a.m.-1 p.m at Campbell Supply, 1108 W. Cherry St., Vermillion. HHS invites the public to meet the nearly 20 dogs looking for homes. If interested in adopting an animal, applications can be filled out prior to the Meet and Greet, as the applications must be reviewed and approved prior to adoption. Applications are available at the shelter at 601 1/2 Burleigh St., Yankton, or online at www.heartlandhumanesociety.net.   • Music Recital: Benjamin Mauritz, baritone, presents his senior voice recital at 1 p.m. in Colton Recital Hall, Warren M. Lee Center for Fine Arts on USD campus. Open to the public at no charge.
  • Music Recital: Kristin Edwards, soprano, preseents her senior voice recital at 5 p.m. in Colton Recital Hall, Warren M. Lee Center for Fine Arts on USD campus. Open to the public at no charge.
  • RED Steakhouse will be preparing a prime rib/chicken dinner with all the trimmings for the 11th annual St. Agnes School Classic. The dinner and dance will be held from 6 p.m.-midnight in the St. Agnes School Auditorium. Please join this major fundraiser for the school. Dinner tickets are on sale now after Mass or at the school office for $40 per person. Along with fine food and dancing there will be silent auction and raffle. Trip raffle tickets are available for $50 each. The big winners of the trip raffle will be announced at 9 p.m. We will honor the 2011-12 Friends of St. Agnes School, John and Margie Schissel, for their years of service and dedication to the church and school.
  • "Catch Me If You Can," will be screened at 7 p.m. in Room 133, Beacom Hall on the USD campus. Free and open to the public.

  • Gesteland Studio Showcase: USD Professor of Voice, Dr. Tracelyn Gesteland, presents her students in a voice recital at 4 p.m. in Colton Recital Hall, Warren M. Lee Center for Fine Arts on USD campus. Open to the public at no charge.

  • "Catch Me If You Can": The USD Beacom School of Business and Office of Student Life hosts Frank Abagnale, acclaimed subject of the book, movie and Broadway play "Cath Me If You Can," at 7 p.m. in Aalfs Auditorium (Slagle Hall) on the USD campus. Abagnale is one of the world's most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents. His rare blend of knowledge and expertise began more than 40 years ago when he was known as one of the world's most famous con men. He has now been associated with the FBI for more than 30 years. More than 14,000 financial institutions, corporations and law enforcement agencies use his fraud prevention programs. Free and open to the public.
