First Bank & Trust would like to congratulate Andrew Kost and Lexi Regnerus as December's Student of the Month winners. These two VHS seniors will receive a $100 scholarship from First Bank & Trust to the college of their choice.
Andrew was nominated because of his hard work and his willingness to always help when needed. As stated his VHS faculty endorsement "He has always been willing to assist in any project when asked!" He future plans are to study pre-medicine and then onto medical school. His parents are Curt and Junella Kost.
His school activities include 4 years of soccer and track, Natural Helpers for 3 years, and National Honor Society 1 year. He was selected to participate in Boys State. His commitment to the Vermillion community includes sand bagging during flood relief efforts, Salvation Army Bell Ringer, Food Pantry collection and boxing, and volunteering at the Vermillion Public Library. Congratulations Andrew!
Lexi was nominated by her endorsee for her hard work, dependability, and for being a great role model for younger girls. Her future plans for school are to attend college either for Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. Her parents are Jay and Carissa Regnerus.
Her activities include 4 years of volleyball and basketball, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), and National Honor Society. Some of her honors include Girls State 2011, All Big 8 Conference for
basketball her junior year and varsity letters for basketball, volleyball, and track. She is a 4th – 6th grade volleyball camp coach and is also a part of FCA – Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Way to go Lexi!
