Brockevelt appointed to Physical Therapy Advisory Committee

Sanford Vermillion is proud to announce that Bob Brockevelt, rehabilitation services manager, was recently appointed a member of the Physical Therapy Advisory Committee for the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners (SDBMOE).

Persons nominated to serve on the Advisory Committee must be residents of the State of South Dakota and be licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of South Dakota.

The Physical Therapy Committee is composed of three physical therapists that assist the Board of Examiners in conducting examinations of persons applying for a license to practice physical therapy. The committee assists the Board of Examiners on all matters pertaining to the licensure, practice, and discipline of all persons licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of South Dakota, or making or abolishing of rules pertaining to physical therapy. Committee members serve a term of three years.

"I welcome the responsibility to assist the SDBMOE in assuring the public that physical therapy services in our State are provided in a safe and ethical manner," said Brockevelt.

We are pleased that he will be utilizing his experience and knowledge to serve a greater role in the licensure and oversight of those in the field," said Tim Tracy, CEO, Sanford Vermillion.

Brockevelt completed his BS in Physical Therapy at the University of North Dakota. He came to Vermillion to start the Physical Therapy program at the University of South Dakota. He completed his Masters in Public Administration at USD. Brockevelt is a member of the South Dakota Physical Therapy Association Hall of Fame. He has been the Manager of Rehabilitation Services with Sanford Vermillion since 1993.
