Vermillion's Red Sox opened the amateur baseball season Sunday with a 7-3 win at Larchwood, IA, over the Diamonds.
Gregg Scott threw six innings and A.J. Staiert the final three. Tyler Candor had a double for the Red Sox.
The Sox will next be in action at home next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against Garretson.
