Delphine Frances Millette, 94, of Vermillion, passed away at the Sanford Vermillion Hospital of Vermillion on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
Visitation took place from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. and a wake service at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion. A funeral mass was held at St. Agnes Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012, with Father John Fischer officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Vermillion following the service.
Delphine was born in Linn, MO, on Oct. 9, 1917, to John and Lydia (Tillman) Lehman. She married Joseph Phillip Millette on July 12, 1945, in St. Louis, MO, and they remained happily married until his passing in 1999.
In her free time Delphine loved to quilt, spend time in her garden, read, and bake. She was also known to be a person to offer a helping hand to anyone that needed it.
Delphine is survived by her children, Nancy (Craig) Edelman, and Richard (Linda) Millette; her grandchildren, Shelby Edelman, Lisa Terrell, Dennis White, Clinton White, and Wallace White; her great-grandchild, Laramie Terrell; her sisters, Dorothy Boessen, Mildred McMichael, and Lorraine Schmich; and her sister-in-law, Teresa Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lydia Lehman; her husband, Joseph Phillip Millette; and her brother, Arthur "Art" Lehman.
Services have been entrusted to Kober Funeral Home of Vermillion.
