The South Dakota Department of Transportation is alerting motorists in Union and Yankton counties that pavement repair work is scheduled to begin the week of July 9 on the following routes:
- The Highway 50 Truck Bypass near Vermillion
- Interstate 29 near mileposts one and 34
- Highway 50 westbound lanes between Gayville and Yankton
- Highway 52 west of Yankton
- Highway 81 in Yankton.
Those projects will involve repair of deteriorated concrete pavement.
Traffic will be maintained through the project areas. Motorists can expect short delays and should be aware of suddenly slowing traffic, construction equipment and workers.
Access to all businesses and residences will be maintained during the road construction in Union and Yankton Counties
Work on those highways is expected to be done by Aug. 17.
The prime contractor is Dakota Contracting of Sioux Falls.
