Vermillion U12 baseball finishes the season on a high note with a second place finish in the 16-team Brookings Tournament (July 13-15) by defeating Elkton, Sioux Falls Cyclones, and Sioux Falls SWAT Blackshirts, and then losing in the championship game to the Sioux Falls Grizzlies 10-7.
Members of the Vermillion U12 baseball team are (back) Coach Andy Johnson, Bradyn Rusher, Cole Christopherson, Gabe DeJong, Carter Larson, Brody Surrell, Logan Bendesky, Coach Ryan Hage, and (front) Riley Beach, Trey Hage, Brett Culver, Reece Peters, Riley Johnson, and Josh Prescott.
The following week Vermillion U12 baseball entered the VFW A division State Tournament which took place in Sioux Falls. The A division consisted of 14 teams. In the preliminary round they defeated Harrisburg, Milbank, and Tea which advanced them to the championship bracket on Sunday with the #1 seed. After falling to Madison and Bon Homme, the boys finished fourth, respectively at State. Congratulations Vermillion U12 on a great season.
