A Nebraska man drowned in the Missouri River near Vermillion Sunday during a horse-riding accident. According to a Sioux City, Iowa, television station citing authorities,
Justin Lineberry, 45, of Maskell, Neb., was riding a horse on a sandbar near the Newcastle-Vermillion bridge when he decided to enter the water.
Dixon County 911 dispatchers received the call about the incident at approximately 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Authorities say the water depth Lineberry was riding in suddenly dropped from a few inches to approximately 8 feet.
Lineberry's body was recovered from the Missouri River at around 7 p.m. Sunday.
