Recently, Sanford Vermillion Medical Center was ranked 36th among hospitals in the United States with the best physician communication.
Compiling survey results, the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems named the top 50 hospitals.
The data is based on the HCAHPS survey, which allows patients to rate line items relating to their patient care experience. This area of the survey covers the percent of patients who reported their physicians always communicated 'well' from April 2010 to March 2011.
"This designation was a welcomed honor for Sanford Vermillion," Tim Tracy, CEO of Sanford Vermillion, said. "The Vermillion medical staff works hard to ensure that patients understand the details of their condition and treatment. Communication with patients has always been a high priority and the providers at Sanford Vermillion strive to exceed all patient expectations. I am proud of this accomplishment for them."
"It is always an honor to have your facility recognized nationally, and we are very proud of this accomplishment. At the same time, our daily goal is always excellent patient care and communication. What this honor really means to us is that we are meeting that goal and patients are finding their experience here to be very positive," comments Roy Mortinsen, MD, Chief of Staff, Sanford Medical Center Vermillion.
