This summer, the Vermillion Area Swim Team co-hosted the 49th Annual Yankton Charity Invitational Swim Meet with the Yankton Swim Team in late June. The meet took place at Fantle Memorial Park and drew 230 swimmers from four states to the meet.
The Vermillion Area Swim Team won the entire meet, finishing first over the Sioux Falls Snowfox and the SiouxLand Sharks of Sioux City, IA.
The Charity Invite stipulates that the winning team donates $300 of meet proceeds to a charity of their choice. VAST gave their winnings to SESDAC in Vermillion. Coach Mike Moran and members of VAST presented the donation at a SESDAC Board of Directors meeting Aug. 6.
