University of South Dakota head men's basketball coach Dave Boots has announced the addition of Trey Norris to the men's basketball program. Norris, a transfer from North Texas, will be eligible to compete in the 2013-14 season.
A six-foot, 170-pound point guard, Norris played one season at North Texas. As a freshman in 2011-12 he averaged 11.7 minutes per game while participating in 31 of 32 contests. Against La Sierra Norris set career highs with eight points, five rebounds and five assists.
A native of Grand Prairie, TX, Norris played at South Grand Prairie high school. As a senior in 2011 he averaged 16.4 points and 3.7 assists per game, was named the District 5-5A MVP, participated in the TABC State All-Star Game and was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State team.
