A Saturday girls match against West Central at 1 p.m. at Cotton Park is the only home action for Vermillion High soccer teams this weekend.

The girls, who are still looking for their first win of the season that counts in power-point standings, lost to West Central just last week by a 4-0 score.  The Tanager girls have been outscored 17-2 in counter games after winning their season-opening non-counter contest.

Meanwhile, the Tanager boys continue to score goals as if there is no tomorrow.  On a weekend trip to the Black Hills they pummeled Hot Springs 11-1 and shut out Lead-Deadwood 12-0 to remain undefeated in five contests.  Vermillion has outscored opponents by a 42-2 count.

The next boys' games will again be in the Black Hills on Sept. 21-22 at Sturgis and Douglas.  At the same time the girls will be playing at Sturgis and Belle Fourche.
