Foundation seeks members: The Clay-Union Foundation is actively seeking volunteer mentors in Elk Point and Jefferson. A 13-year-old boy is waiting for a male volunteer in Elk Point, and a 12-year-old near Jefferson is also hoping to find a male match. They have been waiting since May, and would like to match soon.
The program also has an adult male mentor who is ready to match in Vermillion, and would like to locate a male youth to spend time with him. Youths from age 6-17 are eligible to join the program, and volunteers must be 18 years old to be a mentor. An inquiry was also made seeking African-American volunteers in Vermillion, to match with youth 10, 8 and 5 years old. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call John at (605) 421-5050 to find out more. Applications are available at http://www.clay-unionfoundation.org/ and may be e-mailed in for consideration. The Clay-Union Foundation is a member of the United Way of Vermillion, and is supported by area businesses and individual donors.
