A deputy assisted a Highway Patrol Trooper who was assaulted by a DWI suspect who then fled on foot. The offender was a juvenile and his identity was known so the search was discontinued and his parents notified. He surrendered a short time later.

A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle fire in downtown Vermillion. He was able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.

Deputies responded to a family disturbance in Wakonda where a young woman damaged property belonging to her parents. There was concern the woman was suicidal. The situation was calmed down after it was found there was no basis for a mental health committal.

A deputy responded to a report of a loader on fire which then caused a large grass fire near the intersection of Frog Creek Road and Bluff Road. Traffic control was provided due to low visibility from smoke. Fire units were able to put the fire out.
