The University of South Dakota's men's and women's basketball programs will host their 2012 media day at 11 a.m. Oct. 30 inside the Muenster University Center on the USD campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Head men's basketball coach Dave Boots and first-year women's coach Amy Williams will offer their views of the upcoming season. Coaches and student-athletes from both squads will be available for one-on-one interviews with members of the media.
The 2012-13 season is the Coyotes' second as a member of the Summit League. The Coyote women (23-8, 12-6 Summit) placed third last season while the men (10-18, 5-13 Summit) finished in a tie for eighth place. Both programs are NCAA-tournament eligible for the first time. Both Coyote teams will compete in the Summit League Tournament March 9-12 in Sioux Falls with an automatic bid on the line.
USD's women's team begins its season Nov. 9 against Cleveland State in Cleveland, OH.
USD's men's team opens its season with three games in three days at the Global Sports Showcase hosted by Wyoming Nov. 14-16.
The Coyotes host Culver-Stockton in their home opener Nov. 23.
