The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team finished the 2012 regular season by winning second place in conference. The team is ranked 18th in the nation.
The Warhawks, now 24-10, competed in the WIAC Tournament Nov. 2-3 in Stevens Point, WI. Kylie Fischbach, a freshman undeclared major from Vermillion, S.D., contributed to the team's success.
"During the season, these girls are my family," said Ben Staupe, assistant coach.
"Being on the team helps you develop as an athlete and person, and the experience offers lifelong memories."
Besides being aggressive on the court, the UW-Whitewater women's volleyball team positively contributes to the community, and the world. The team has donated free volleyball lessons and equipment to local middle schools, and traveled to Costa Rica to help with an afterschool program for underprivileged children.
