The South Dakota men's cross country team is ranked 15th in the Midwest Region according to the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) polls released on Monday.
It is the first time the Coyote men have been ranked in a Division I poll. The Coyote women were ranked 15th in the women's Midwest Region poll earlier this season.
The ranking comes after the men finished second at the Summit League Championships on Saturday. That meet's winner, South Dakota State, is currently ranked 11th in the same poll.
The poll is currently led by Oklahoma State. South Dakota has competed against many of the region's ranked teams this season, seeing #7 Iowa State, #8 Minnesota, #11 SDSU and #13 Iowa in at least one meet this season.
Both Coyote teams will be at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov 10 in Springfield, MO.
