The Vermillion Community Theatre Board of Directors announces the selection of “Robin Hood, Spirit of the Greene” as the 2013 summer musical. The musical was written locally and first performed in 2003. The original production was a community favorite and VCT has been repeatedly requested to remount the show.
The original script and music were written by the team of Anthony Burbach, Dan Miller, Steve Miller and George Schlenker. Steve Miller has reworked the script and written one new song for this summer’s production.
Performances will be July 19-22 at the Vermillion High School Performing Arts Center. Auditions will be in mid-May with rehearsals starting June 8. Jen Dickenson, director of last year’s “Annie,” will direct “Robin Hood.”
The Vermillion Community Theatre Board of Directors has set the week of June 16-21 as the annual children’s workshop for 50 actors completing kindergarten through fifth grade.
This event is presented in cooperation with Dakota Players who will cast, rehearse and perform a new play called “X is for Zebra.”
The registration of $30 can be made at the community summer activity event on May 8 or online.
Additional information on both events can be found at vermillioncommunitytheatre.org.
