Blaine Ira Maddox, age 46, of Gayville, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at his home in Gayville.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, with Rev. Dani Jo Ninke officiating. Burial was in the Gayville Cemetery in Gayville. Visitation was from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Steve Wuebben, Jeremi Cowman, Adam Maddox, Tanner Maddox, Norm Kleinschmit and Allen Taggart.
Blaine Ira Maddox was born Nov. 28, 1966, in Iowa City, IA, to Donald and Sally (Copple) Maddox. He grew up and attended school in Gayville graduating from Gayville High School in 1985. Blaine farmed for various farmers while he was in high school and continued farming in the Gayville area throughout his life. Blaine loved throwing horseshoes, competing in several tournaments. He also enjoyed fishing but especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Blaine had a big heart and was always friendly, willing to do anything to help someone in need. He enjoyed life to its fullest and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his parents, Don and Sally Maddox of Gayville; three children, Jay, Brandi, and Logan Maddox of Tulsa, OK; three brothers: Kip (Linda) Maddox of Yankton, Bret Maddox of Sioux Falls, and Dallas Maddox of Gayville; one sister, Kim (Tim) Cowman of Vermillion, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
