06/09/13 13:32 – A report was received that people were on a sandbar on the Missouri River and the caller was concerned. A deputy investigated and could see the people had a boat nearby and were not in distress.

06/09/13 15:50 – A deputy responded to a report of an injured deer south of Vermillion. The deer was no longer in the area.

06/09/13 16:27 – A report was received of a stray horse east of Vermillion. A deputy contacted the owner and informed her of the problem, which has been a repeated issue.

06/09/13 18:46 – A caller reported a vehicle slowing down near his residence and causing suspicion. A deputy investigated and the vehicle was gone.

06/10/13 10:37 – A deputy checked on the welfare of a person who had been threatening suicide. The woman was not found to be an immediate threat. She is seeing a counselor. No hold was placed.

06/10/13 19:49 – A deputy investigated a minor non-injury accident at Clay County Park.

06/10/13 20:37 – A deputy investigated a non-injury accident in Irene.

06/11/13 00:03 – A request was received for a check of a rural resident’s welfare. The caller reported he was laying in his yard. A deputy responded and did not find the man there.

06/11/13 11:49 – A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle stuck on a minimum maintenance road and was blocking the road. The owner was contacted and asked to move the vehicle as soon as possible. The vehicle was moved later in the day.

06/11/13 12:01 – A deputy encountered a man working on a horse trailer with a broken spring. The deputy assisted the man with getting the vehicle moved to a repair shop.

06/11/13 16:12 – A deputy transported a patient from the Sanford Emergency Room to the Human Services Center in Yankton for a mental health committal.

06/11/13 20:12 – A deputy mediated a child custody dispute. The matter was referred to each parent’s lawyers.

06/12/13 07:13 – A caller reported a vehicle stuck on a minimum maintenance road. A deputy checked and contacted the owner, who was making arrangements to get pulled out.

06/12/13 08:23 – A rural resident reported theft of copper tubing and radiators from old cars on his property. The theft occurred sometime in the past year. The matter is under investigation.

06/12/13 09:54 – A deputy received a report that a woman was seeing her probation officer and was wanted in Minnehaha County. The deputy responded and arrested the woman for the warrant.

06/12/13 10:29 – Deputies arrested a wanted person in Vermillion after he violated the 24/7 Sobriety Program. He was transported to the jail.

06/12/13 14:52 – An inmate was transported from the jail to a dentist to have a tooth pulled and then he was returned to the jail.

06/12/13 19:51 – A deputy responded to an anonymous complaint about a family dispute in Wakonda. Upon arrival he learned that there had been some ongoing disagreements but there had been no violence. The situation had calmed down and no action was necessary.

06/12/13 20:02 – A rural resident made a report that a man violated a protection order after she saw his car at a prohibited location. Upon investigation, it was learned that the man was not at the residence and there was no violation since the residence was not listed on the order. Someone else had the car.

06/12/13 22:16 – A man reported a news crew had entered his house and taken photos. A deputy investigated and found this had not happened.

06/13/13 01:17 – A rural resident reported she couldn’t locate her son. A deputy investigated and found the teenager sleeping at a friend’s house.

06/13/13 12:44 – A deputy responded to a report of a horse trailer and some vehicles stopped on the road causing a hazard. The deputy provided traffic control while a tire was replaced and the vehicles could move.

06/13/13 14:49 – A deputy transported an inmate from the jail to a dentist visit and then returned him to the jail.

06/14/13 07:00 – A report was received of a runaway juvenile girl from Wakonda. The girl was later located in Beresford and returned to her home.

06/14/13 12:16 – A deputy responded to a rural residence after receiving a report of a child with her finger stuck in a spring on a mower. The child’s mother was able to free the child and transported her to the hospital herself.

06/14/13 14:20 – A request was received from the brother of a rural resident who has not been seen for some time. The brother requested a welfare check. Officers responded and entered the home, finding the man deceased. The coroner was contacted. Investigation indicated the man had died of natural causes.

06/14/13 18:28 – A patient was transported from Irene to sacred heart Hospital for an evaluation and then to the Human Services Center in Yankton for a mental health committal.

06/15/13 02:21 – A deputy transported a patient from the Sanford Emergency Room to the Human Services Center in Yankton for a mental health committal.

06/15/13 09:44 – A deputy transported an inmate from the Minnehaha County Jail to the Clay County Jail after the inmate was arrested on a Clay County warrant.

06/15/13 14:25 – A deputy received a report that a motorcycle was speeding toward Vermillion from Yankton. The deputy responded to the area but the motorcycle was not observed.

06/15/13 20:21 – A deputy responded to a 911 call from a residence north of Vermillion. The call was found to be an accidental dial.

06/15/13 21:38 – A deputy encountered a disabled vehicle on Highway 46. The driver was unable to fix the car so a tow truck was requested. Traffic control was provided until the car could be moved.
