Gov. Dennis Daugaard has announced that Aberdeen has been chosen to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day on Aug. 16.
“I look forward to the Aberdeen event, and thank community leaders for offering to host it,” Daugaard said. “It’s an excellent opportunity for me to get better acquainted with them and more informed about local issues and the future of the Aberdeen area.”
The governor and a small delegation of state officials will have roundtable meetings with business and community leaders. There will also be a coffee and constituent-outreach hour later that day.
“It is appropriate that South Dakota’s biggest event of every year, the Brown County Fair in Aberdeen, will this year include the state’s Governor and the capable and dedicated people he brings for the Capital for a Day visit”, said Mayor Mike Levsen. “We encourage our friends from the area to not miss this opportunity to talk with these good people who serve us in our state government.”
A complete agenda will be released at a later date.
