The second court date for two area residents charged with sex offenses passed without incident.
Joseph T. Night, 62, of Burbank, and Roland Gilbaugh, 69, Vermillion, have been charged with 13 counts and 10 counts, respectively.
States Attorney Teddi Gertsma said neither man appeared at the hearing last week.
“Nothing happened,” Gertsma said. “(Public defender Jason Rumpsa) filed motions to be able to file more motions if we need them, because we’re still looking over things.”
While their cases are not related, Night and Gilbaugh were arrested and charged near the same time.
Night was charged with four counts of rape in the first degree, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of sexual contact with a child under the age of 16, two counts of aggravated incest, one count of simple assault, one count of interfering with an emergency communication and one count of intent to damage property in the third degree.
Gilbaugh was charged with 10 counts of possession, manufacture or distribution of child pornography.
Both men appeared in the Clay County Courthouse last month, at which time they pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The trials of both men have been scheduled for the week of Sept. 23.
