Heartland Humane Society will have adoption sites in July

Heartland Humane Society will have dogs available for adoption at two upcoming events.

Join the shelter in Vermillion on Thursday, July 25 from 6-8 p.m. in downtown Vermillion as they celebrate Thursdays on the Platz. The event is being sponsored by Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Dogs will be available for adoption and the general public is welcomed to stop by.

Heartland Humane Society will also have dogs available to meet Yankton’s Moonlight Madness downtown event on Friday, July 26 from 4-8p.m.

“Meet and greets allow our dogs waiting for adoption to get out into the public and make new friends,” said Kerry Schmidt, executive director at Heartland Humane Society.

Schmidt encourages anyone interested in adopting an animal to fill out an application prior to the meet and greet. You can pick up an application at the shelter or find it online at www.heartlandhumanesociety.net

The shelter will have a litter of nine puppies available for adoption starting in August. In addition, HHS currently has an abundance of kittens and guinea pigs.
