Hit writer Rob Crosby songwriter workshop is July 27

NSAI Sioux Falls Songwriters announces a Songwriter Workshop with Nashville hit writer/artist Rob Crosby on Saturday, July 27, in Sioux Falls.

Crosby’s top 10 hits include “Holding a Good Hand” by Lee Greenwood, “She’s More” by Andy Griggs, “Concrete Angel” by Martina McBride, and his own recordings of “She’s a Natural,” “Love Will Bring Us Together,” and “Burnin’ for You.”

He will perform Friday, July 26, at noon at the Old Courthouse Museum and Saturday, July 27, at 6 p.m. at Strawbale Winery. For more information, check Crosby’s Web site at www.robcrosby.com.

Crosby will lead workshop attendees in activities to improve their writing skills. As a successful writer in the Nashville music scene, Crosby will provide tips that will be particularly valuable to those interested in the country music market.

The workshop will be from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Quality Inn and Suites, 5410 Granite Lane at I-29 exit 83. The cost is $30 for NSAI members and $45 for non-members. Lunch will be provided.

NSAI Sioux Falls Songwriters is the South Dakota chapter affiliated with Nashville Songwriters Association International, the largest songwriting organization in the United States. Begun in 2004 by Vermillion singer/songwriter Mary Green Vickrey, the local group is dedicated to improving songwriting skills in any musical genre and building a local community of songwriters. Brookings singer/songwriter John Mills is the co-coordinator.
