Wednesday Morning Ladies Golf
Today, July 10, we were honored with three guests – Arlys Mason, Jane Kugler and Kay Powell. Welcome ladies and it was great having you with us.
There were 23 present for luncheon. Thank you, Cherry Street Grille!
Desserts were provided by Mary Lea Hennies and Ann Stewart. Both treats were delicious.
Our drawings were won by:
$5 drawings – Agnes Mockler and Vaneta Youngworth.
Quarters – Mary Lea Hennies, Ann Stewart, Jane Kugler, Mary Bartels, Arlys Mason, Rose Mart, and (thank you Rose for drawing my name) Pat Steckelberg.
As you can see, two of our guests were winners!
There was one table for Bridge with Arlys Mason (one of our guests) having high and Lorraine Brunick was low. It is always nice to see enough ladies for at least one table of bridge.
Dominoes – Today there were three tables.
Round 1 – Babe Hurowitz, Joyce Zimmerman, and Mary Bartels.
Round 2 – Karine Amundson, Joyce Zimmerman, and Mary Lea Hennies.
Round 3 – Anita White, Dori Ryan, and Agnes Mockler.
Total score – Karine Amundson, Joyce Zimmerman, and Mary Lea Hennies.
Some ladies were really on a roll with the dominoes!
Golf – We had five players today which was that much more fun. The game we played was Poker. Counted only the odd holes. I am not good at poker of any kind, but still had a lot of fun. Mary Lea won the bucks with four sevens. On #6 she was getting ready to come down on her down swing but the ball did not want her to hit it so just fell off the tee. Her reaction was great!
I (Pat Steckelberg) had a second Wednesday with pars on the par three holes. I have never done that before. It felt real good!
We still have a few weeks to get together. Come out and hang out with us!
Wednesday Evening Ladies League
July 10, 2013, was a beautiful night for golf and the Wednesday Evening Ladies League took full advantage. How often does it occur that there is no rain, not much wind and temperatures are moderate? The conditions certainly suited Kathy Merrigan-Manning who shot the low gross of 41.
Hot on her heels was Susan Oberle with a score of 43. Jenny Thompson had a blistering round, scoring a terrific low net score of 27 (50-23). All of the great scores above came without a birdie in the group.
There were, though, two women who had birdies: Mary Mock on #5 and Joanne Ustad on #8. Ann Jensen took out Barb Weyrich to land the pin prize for longest putt on hole #9. And, coming into some money was Judy Hanson who won the 50:50 drawing.
