Vermillion Area Dance Organization (VADO) welcomes Louise Connolly from Connolly Irish Dance, to Vermillion July 20 for a dance workshop. VADO will host an all-day dance workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their studios provided by Sanford Vermillion at 19A S. Plum St, across from the hospital.
The workshop begins with tap, hip-hop and clogging lessons in the morning and proceeds after lunch with Irish, tap and hip-hop.
The workshop costs only $30 for the entire day. There is a special price for families who have more than one dancer attending, at $20 per family member. Interested attendees are encouraged to visit VADO’s website to decide which classes they would like to attend. VADO’s website is: www.vermillionareadance.com. Registration for the workshop will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 20. Dancers need to be 8 years old or older. Adults are encouraged to attend. The instructors include Louise Connolly for Beginner Irish Soft Shoe and Hard Shoe, Zach Fuller for Beginner and Advanced Tap, Emily Miller teaching Beginning and Advanced Hip Hop and Grace Freeman teaching Introduction to Clogging and Beginner Clog Dancing.
Louise Connolly, from Connolly Irish Dance in Sioux Falls, danced with Michael Flattley’s “Lord Of The Dance” while it toured the World, for six years. She also holds two World Irish Dance Championships. Her biography is included on the VADO Web site.
Zach Fuller is a college student attending University of South Dakota and has been dancing since he was a toddler. He is currently a dance instructor at VADO.
Katie Neson teaches dance in Sioux Falls at Ballaraena Dance Studios.
Grace Freeman began clogging with the Cripple Creek Cloggers in Madison, WI, and has attended the Certified Cloggers Instructor’s class with the organization C.L.O.G., she also teaches at the VADO studios.
