Bicycling fans from a four-state area will make their way to Elk Point for the Heritage ride, a charity ride to support the local youth mentoring program. The event features five routes from 8 to 58 plus miles, and starts at the Immanuel Lutheran church, 607 West Main Street in Elk Point. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The riders leave as a group at 9 a.m. with an escort out of town, then can ride at their own pace. Free snacks, door prizes and beverages are provided to entrants. Registration forms are at http://www.clay-unionfoundation.org/ under the events tab, or at http://www.bikeiowa.com/ under Heritage ride. A route is available for all rider levels, and is great way to support a local program. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call John Gille at 605-421-5050 for more information. Walk-ins are welcome.
