Odell Myron, 93, of Vermillion, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the Sanford Vermillion Care Center.
Odell was born March 9, 1920, in Meckling, to Ole and Myra (Snyder) Myron. He graduated from University High School in Vermillion and joined the Navy in 1941 and also served in the Coast Guard. Odell started working with the Postal Service in 1940 retiring in 1975. On Jan. 30, 1942, he married Doris Halverson in Dakota City, NE.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris; a son, Brad; and a brother, Gordon. He is survived by his son, Mark (Dawn) Myron of Vermillion; and two daughters, Gayle (Terry) Ramey of Jackson, MN, and Sheryl (Richard) Duman of Vermillion; and also six grandchildren and nine great-grandsons.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion. Burial followed in the BluffView Cemetery in Vermillion. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. hansenfuneralhome.com.
