Richard G. Duman, 67, of Vermillion, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
Richard was born Nov. 24, 1945, in Omaha, NE, to George and Carmela (Nigro) Duman. He graduated from Vermillion High School in 1963. He married Sheryl Myron on Sept. 2, 1972 in Vermillion. He worked as a Microbiologist for the University of South Dakota retiring after 43 years and was currently working part time for Quality Motors in Vermillion.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Carmela, and his father-in-law, Odell Myron.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sheryl, of Vermillion; a son, David, of Sioux Falls; his father, George, of Omaha, NE; three sisters, Antoinette (Bud) Noble of LaVista, NE, Charlotte (Bud) Meade of Council Bluffs, IA, and Jeanette Duman of Omaha, NE; and four brothers, Greg (Becky) Duman, Mark (Ellen) Duman, Robert Duman and Mike Duman all of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by in-laws, Gayle (Terry) Ramey of Jackson, MN, and Mark (Dawn) Myron, of Vermillion, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion with burial following in the Bluffview Cemetery in Vermillion. Visitation was Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion. hansenfuneralhome.com.
